Yamhill county, through County Judge R. P. Bird, has entered with the railroad commission an informal complaint against the Sher idan V WUlamina railroad. The main track of the WUlamina road crosses the county - road in Tamhlll county three times, and at each crossing the condition of the road is so bad, according to Judge Bird, that it is dangerous and almost Impossible for .loaded wagons to cross the tracks. ' Efforts to prevail upon the railroad oompany to remedy the bad crossings have been in vain. The railroad com mission is asked to take the matter up and see what can be done to compel the railroad to repair and reconstruct its crossings. The coffee Industry flourished to some extent in Cuba a good many years ago, but has been allowed to lapse into a state of comparative Inactivity, and there is now no special culture except on large estates where coffee for the consumption of the owners and tenants Is grown.
