Rock had been serving a life sentence for murder and had been In six year With William Hayes and two other convicts he made a desper ate attempt to escape, In the course of which the conspirators killed Robin eon, and dangerously wounded Warden Conley with knives. Rock refused to be tried, pleaded guilty and asked the court to sentence him to hang as quick ly as possible. -Last week. he asked the prison officials if they could not bang him Immediately.
