More hart 100 delegates from the different clubs have already accepted Invita tions, and it la expected that 120 at least will - alt down to the banquet. Mayor Lane, Tom Richardson, Fire Chief Campbell, Dr. Deveny and Whit r ney Is. Boise will be tha principal speak ers. The Rose City quartet will sine at the banquet , - , . The . Montavllla board of trad will meet tomorrow at the hall of the board of trad and take up tha matter of street improvement. It is proposed to im prove six streets, so that the fire de partment can get over the roads with out difficulty in future. Three of thess 'roads lead north and south of Villa avenue and three east and west' An ' effort will be made also to have tha board adopt resolutions favoring the ex tension of the .assessment for Improv ing Villa avenue -to a distance of two blocks back of this avenue. - Tomorrow evening at o'clock the Kenilworta Improvement club will glva a social entertainment at the Kenllworth church. The proceeds of the fair will be for the benefit of the church. A. special com mittee has been selected to lake charge of the project. A musical program by some of the leading musicians of the city has been arranged for the fair, and the card will be changed every day. A business men's lunch will be served by the ladies every afternoon and evening. The Third Regiment, Oregon National Guard, Battery A, field artillery, hos pital corps and Camp Young, S. W. V., will hold their annual military religious service at the First Presbyterian church. Twelfth and Alder. Sunday evening. May 81, at g o'clock. The or ganisation will march from tha armory with band. Professor E. E. Coursen will begin an organ recital at 7:30. Chaplain William & Gilbert will con duct the service and deliver the address. Arion hall has been secured for the occasion and only enough Invitations will be Issued to have the hall comfortably filled. . Every, thing will be free and a fine program is being arranged. There will also be dancing. The entertainment will serve in a good measure to welcome visiting Artisans. Friday afternoon Mr. Wilson and Governor Chamberlain spoke to a large crowd at Canby, the talk given by Mr. Wilson being entirely on Statement No. A. King Wilson. 1, while Governor Chamberlain, who warmly indorsed the candidacy . of Mr. Wilson, explained the results of the su preme court decision in the Willamette locks case which will mean a saving of probably 60 oents a ton in xreignt shipped by the Willamette valley farm ers. This decision in the suit which was Inaugurated by Governor Chamber lain, declared that the Portland General Electric comrianv should oar 10 per cent of its receipts for the locks that have accrued for the past eight years. and also recognized the right of the state to take over the locks at any time. The electric company' has never paid a dollar to the state since the construc tion of the locks. In speaking of Statement No. 1 and the plan of some candidates elected on that ticket to go back on their word. Governor Chamberlain said their posi tion was analogous to that of a farm hand, hired to work for $60 a month, who, when he hud received his money declined to take orders and asked, what hi employer was going to do about it. speakers at Oregon City Friday evening and his advocacy of Statement No. 1 was received with great applause. Deputy County Clerk Snyder baa com' pleted a tabulation Of figures of reg istration by precincts and wards, this being a big task. It shows that every east side ward contains more voters than any west side ward. . Lowest on the west is the First, which has only 1.18T voters, and the largest la tin 'irtn. with 8,0 vs. ine banner ward in the city is the Eighth, which has a reg istered vote of 6,205. The lowest east side ward is the Seventh, with 8,267. The country precincts muster an even 4.600 votes. A summary of the figures shows 12, 481 votes on the west side and 16,1.81 on the other aids of the Willamette. The west side registration shows 19, 070 Republicans, 1,890 Democrats and 621 miscellaneous. On the east side are 12,897 Republicans, 2,846 Democrats and S41 of other shades of belief. The country vote shows 3,880 Republicans, fZt Democrats and 872 miscellaneous.
