Following the Alesla will be the Nu

direct from Yokohama from this port.
It was announced this morning that
while some difficulty has been experi
enced getting a full cargo for the Nlo

here Tuesday, the Alesla will go out
fully laden, space having already been
reserved for 40,000 barrels of flour.
The Nlcomedla will go out with about
14.000 barrels of flour and the balance
of the freight space devoted to lum
ber and general freight.
Bags command a heavy duty, so that
the next three oriental liners will en
rich the customs department by thou
sands of dollars."
Local Inspectors Will Look Into Con.
duct of Bar Pilot Bailey.
The hearing of tha comolalnt filed by
Captain Olson of the steamer Alliance,
charging Bar Pilot Bailey with having
detained him off the mouth of tbe Co
lumbia river In hopes of getting a big
towage claim last winter, when the Al
liance lost her rudder in crossing Coos
bay bar. will come up for hearing before
local Inspectors Edwards and Fuller on
Mar 16.
The hearing gives promise of bring
ing out some sensational testimony In
view of the fact that Captain Olson has
set forth In his complaint that Pilot
Bailey frightened the passengers on the
partly disabled Alliance ln saying that
the vessel would be lost unless she be
taken In tow.
The Minnie E. Kelton hearing, which
was on the boards yesterday, was con
tinued, owing to the fact that Captain
MacKenna has not yet returned from
Astoria, where he went to inspect the
steam schooner. The hearing will prob
ably be resumed Monday morning.

Vancouver with a cargo of coal. The
Babcock has been out 100 days from

In view of the fact that other belated

captain of the Babcock will have a
