Both men laughed at the idea of the
"S" turn and, too, at the turn planned
at the gravel pit. According to them
the "S" turn can be made at a speed
of about 62 . miles an hour while the
turn at the gravel pit will allow for -a
speed of 28 miles. This is compara
tively slow speed when the speed with
which they plan to take the other
curves is considered, but there Is a hill
leading up to it commencing about 60
yards from where a turn will be made
nto the Base Line road and 28 miles
is all the speed which can be made up

f 10,000 trout fry has been received by
Victor Marden from the United States
finh commissioner at Oregon City and
Is being- placed In lower Sight Mile
creek. Many Of the trout that have
been placed in local streams previously
have got into irrigating ditches and
when the water was turned off. ther
died. However the farmers are being
generally notified to put in screens in
their ditches to keep the young trout
out, and It is thought with these pre
cautions being observed that more of
the trout will live long enough to mako
sport tor local angicrs. .
