th advent, the nativity, the crucifixion.
the resurreetlon and ascension. A cho
rus of some 40 voices Intsroreted the
composition, which has a good deal of
dignity and grace, and an orchestra of
20 pieces assisted. The members of
th quartet did splendid solo work -Mra
J. 8- Miller, soprano; Mia Evelyn
Hurley, contralto: E. C Davis, tenor.
and Charles Cutter, basso: with Mra
Jessie MoConnell Hale and R. Schramm
assisting In th quartet work.

Nettle Oreer Taylor, Mrs. W. A. T.
Rushong, Sidney Lathrop. and W. A.

Hiram E. Pattee Passed
Away Yesterday at His
East Side Home.
Hiram E. Pattee, a pioneer of 1860,
and a highly respected resident of Port
hind, died at th family residence, 631
Esst Morrison street, yesterday after
noon. Mr. Pattee had lived In Portland
sine 1861 and for many year was
master mechanic of th Oregon Transfer
company. He always evinced tho great
est Interest in aquatic sports and was
formerly a member of th local yacht
club.
Mr. Pattee was born In Bath, Maine,
In 1828, and cam to California by way
of Cap Horn in 1860. In 1878 he was
united In marriage with Miss Mary
Stlmson. - who with a - daughter. Ml
Cora B. Pattee, of the East Sid High
school faculty, survive mm.
