' ' i:'' MORE YET! . ::: r The following "is from Mr. James H. Meikle, our Consulting Engineer, Superintendent of the Rogers lease, 400 feet distent from- ours, and the wonder of the world today. It was written on April 19 : ' i 1 "The drawing you sent regarding the course of, the drift received. Our ideas were the same, as I had already made the change. We have passed through the block porphyry and cut the dacite dyke mentioned in my last letter as showing, in the Little Florence work ings. The face of the drift is in a highly mineralized porphy carrying quartz seams showing values. I took samples from it yesterday v but Fred had not got returns when I saw him this morning. I propose to follow the present course until , we intersect the big vein 4 cut on the 150-foot level. Since cutting this mineralized dacite dyke, the outlook is much brighter and we aire likely to strike one of the rich ore shoots at any time now. Several new strikes have been made on the Florence lately, and the general outlook at the camp is . very bright." He is an experienced miner and faithful man, but for our own satisfaction we have the man at the head of the richest minejta the world pay two daily visits to our work and direct matters there. Read it: - f M- i "There was a big strike 18 miles southeast of here yesterday. Miners are bringing in rock showing lots of free gold. : Work. ! t is progressing in good shape on the lease and we are making good headway in sinking the shaft. Values continue to hold up and every t oWe who visits our lease is very favorably impressed with it and think WE HAVE A WINNER IF THERE IS ONE IN THE CAMP! ; The Bluff claim is attracting considerable attention on account of our strike, and the Bluff-Hoodlum lease adjoining us which has 10 feet of $100 ore.' Mr. Kidd, our neighbor, has sold his lease for a big price to outside parties. -There are over 800 leasers at work here - and new strikes are becoming so common that little interest is being taken in them.
