Members of the street committee of
the city council yesterday took favor
able action upon a resolution Intro
duced by Councilman Baker to open
streets through the Kamm tract. The
streets are Fifteenth from Salmon to
Jefferson and Main from Chapman to
Fourteenth. These streets are now
closed to the public by the Kamm tract
and their oneninr means added street
facilities to a large population lying
south and west of the tract.
Kamm has opposed the opening of the
streets for years and has always been
successful, but It is believed that the
council will now take docisiv action.
Other tracts of similar nature will also
be opened up In various parts of the
city. .

High winds that prevailed last night
blew down four of th tentaouse poll

County Clerk Fields this morning. In
each oasa provision had to be made for

The greatest difficulty was experi

that seemed available, and efforts were
made to put the tent back In position.
So strong was the wind that the at

county clerk directed the election board
to secure some new bouse in that sec

Other tents beaten down by th wind
