and under which a number of heirlooms

after a protracted and generally tedious
hearing. The marquis has declared

of the evidence was the story, told by

money on clothes in order that he might
be smartly dressed as the companion
of the marquis on his visit to the Uni

bride. In 18 months he spent 166

proceedings. The marquis frequently
abandoned himself to boisterous laugh

amused by the merry scene.
In opening the case it was suggested
that Mr. Robins had improperly dis

for the plaintiff, explained that the
heirlooms consisted of valuable ohina

into a deed for resettlement by Lord

marquis's will. A large part of the
china had disappeared, and counsel did
not think It likely that Mr. Robins
knew nothing of the fact, although the
defense would possibly suggest that it
was not done under his control.
