Is expected to hear the young man who
haa been making such a whirlwind
campaign since he announced his candi
dacy several weeks ago.
Mr. Cola addressed a large gathering
of Republicans at Woodstock lust night
under the auspices -of the Forty-fifth
Precinct Republican club. The candi
date was accorded a hearty welcome by
the crowd by his clear and forcible
manner In presenting his views. The
speaker reiterated his promises set
forth In his platform In repard to en

honesty of his motlvea In running for
the distrlot attorneyship.
C. Ben Riesland presided at last

spoke were R. O. Morrow, candidate for

there are now five disengaged In port,
the largest number early last year.
The Donna Francisco left Valparaiso

and nothing was known of her having
struck out for this port until a rew

her coming caused no little surprise
among tne snipping rraternity.

In the river are the British ship Largle

the British bark I.eyland Brothers and
the British bark Crown of India. The
Crown of India and Iarglemore are in
the harbor, while th Brodick Castle
and Leyland Brothers are still at As
toria. Lumber Is offering for several ports,
and in view of this being the tall end
of the wheat shipping season, some of
the disengaged ships will probably have
to accept It or wait for new crop wheat.
