has caused steep gradients for southerly
winds and a maximum wind velocity of
30 miles occurred early this morning at
Seattle. Light rain has fallen In west
ern Washington In connection with the
British Columbia disturbance. A trough
of low pressure extends from Lake Su
perior south to Ioulslana. No rain or
snow of consequence has fallen in the
northern states under the Influence of
this trough of low pressure but in the
southern states the rainfall has been
heavy, especially in Alabama and Geor
gia. It is warmer in Oregon. Idaho
und northern Nevada snd the tempera
tures' In all the northern states are
above normal.
The indications are for showers In
this district tonight and Tuesday, with
no marked changes In temperatures.
