The Curtis Lumber company of Mill
City and F. W. Bpencer and E. Keen
of Salem filed a petition in the United
States court yesterday requesting that
the Salem Box & Lumber company be
declared an Involuntary bankrupt. The
liabilities of the firm are said to be
16,700 and the assets 14,000 according

"The Toymaker" Thursday Night.
The attraction at the Hei'lg theatre,
Fourteenth and Washington streets, for
three nights, beginning next Thursday,
March 19, with a popular price matinee
Saturday afternoon, will be the famous
San Frannlsco opera company. Thl
ever-welcome company, with Jolly Teddy
Webb and charming Daphne Pollard,
will present the dainty, delightful comic
opera, 'The Toymaker." The advanced
seat sal opened this morning.
Musical Play Next Sunday.
The musical-comedy success, "Com
ing Thro' the Rye," with a company of
65 people, will be the attraction at the
Heilig theatre, Fourteenth and Wash
ington streets, for four nights, begin
ning next Sunday night, March 22, with
a special price matinee Wednesday aft
ernoon. This will be one of th big
gest and best musical shows of the sea

next Friday morning at box office at
the theatre.

Success.
"Dream City" has captivated the
town. It Is at the Marauam and has
been praised by all who have attended
the Marquam this week. The ahow la

Little Chip and Mary Marble, two of
