OF KLAMATH PROJECT

Klamath Falls, Or., March 12. Klam
ath county has made request through
Senator Fulton and Congressman Haw
ley, as well as various organizations In
Klamah Falls, that a aoll survey be
made of the lands coming- under the
Klamath project by the government.
A letter has been received from Mil
ton Whitney chief of the bureau of soil
survey at Washington, stating that the
request would have due consideration,
although no time oould be set as to the
commencement or the survey on account
of the vast number of requests already
on file and the appropriation that has
been made for such work. The matter
will not be dropped, but will continue
to be urged, and much hope Is expressed
over the promise that has been given.

ing been burled In the Sllverton ceme
tery for more than 24 years the remains
of Arthur Tatty were exhumed yester
day afternoon and removed to Newberg
where they were relnterred.
This circumstance, recalls a tragedy
which occurred in the early history of
Silvertun. when young Patty was shot
down by his employer on his twenty
flrot birthday. Later the murderer com
mitted suicide.
