An address waa made In favor of an nexation by Dr. William Deveny. who told what annexation had done for Mon tavllla, and under what adverse circum stances the fight was waged In that suburb. Dr. Deveny's address was a strong one and well attended by the audience. Rev. Green C. Love also spoke in favor -of annexation and was followed by M. Krueder of Creston, who spoke against annexation. Mr. Krueder de clared that Mount Scot was wanted for the mere purpose of the rich plunder it would afford the grafters In the city of Portland. Music and clog dancing were some of the attractions billed by the annexa tionists to draw a crowd. Other meet ings will be held at intervale at other places in the district during the cam paign.
