between Count Bonl de Castellans
and his titled Cousin, Prince De Sagan,
drew a large hungry crowd today. The
trial Is based upon De 8a van's suit for
damagea to the amount of 1 frano for
injuries received in joonrs recent

Count Bonl was th first witness.

Dyersburg, Ky., Feb. 4. Early today
200 mounted night riders raided the
warehouse of A.' C. Bennett and burned
all of the tobacco contained in It as well
as a distillery near at hand. The band
also destroyed thousands of tobacco

Klamath Falls. Or., Feb. 4. Joseph
Conger, one of Klamath county's oldest
citizens, la dead, at his home here, at
the age of T( years. He came across
the plains from Plko county, Indiana, In
1853. and after staying for a time at
Coos Bay, and later at Treka, he came
into Klamath county In 187S, approach
ing Kiamatn rails, tnen linkviue. rrom
tne west. He came out on a man biurr
overlooking una river, ana saw below,
him on the opposite bank a favored
spot, sheltered and on the rlver'a bank.
He decided to make that spot his home.
and for many years he cultivated an
orchard and garden there. About two
years ago hla health railed, and having
more than he could take care of, he sold
the areater part of his orchard to the
Klamath Canal company, which In turn
cut 4t up into small tracts, and several
Klamath Falls citizens own and prise
tnese tracts.
Mr. Conger was a bachelor. He is
survived by one sister. Mrs. Keturah
Beckus of Vlncennes, Indiana.

the matter of establishing a plant here,
too. Mr. Sinclair Is at present out of
the city, but Is expected to return aa
soon aa he has visited the various live
stock centers to look Into supplies and
