i'ookookapok Is not the name of a

doubtless, come as a severe Jolt to the
antiquarian folk who cherished the I

thing soulful about the simple name i
rookookapog, something suggestive of
me simple aborigine who once, may
hap, toasted his prisoner of war before
a hardwood fire on the banks Of the

the board on geographic names

Board Seeks Adherence of
Business Methods Between
the Roads and Shippers.
Stricter adherence to business prin
ciples Is being enforced between rail
road companies and shippers by' the rul
ings of the Interstate, commerce com
mission. In the case of a railroad
furnishing a stock car where a box car
is not available for a machinery ship
ment and the ahlpper goes to the ex
pense of lining the stock car with
tarred paper, the railroad has been re
fused permission to reimburse the
shipper.
In a case where a shipment is routed
contrary to the expressed directions of
the shipper, and the consignee is com-
?elled to move the shipment by dray
rom the station to destination to which
it would have been delivered if properly
routed, the railroad company may.

He had served time in Jail and there
were other charges that might have
