He said a man had made com plaint to him that Burka and Ooslln were taking men to Oregon City to file on land which they had never seen and that after an Investigation he had ar rested the men and given them a hear ing before United States Commissioner Leady, v?hen they were bound over to the grand Jury and put under bonda. After the Indictment had been found Hail said ha had discussed the case with Fulton, who had told him It was a quarrel between Hammond and the Northern Pacific. Hall said he then lost some Interest In the case because he did not care to fight the battlea of either A. B.
