California league come to Portland to
speak at the mass meeting in Arlon
hall on January 10.
The following is a copy of the letter

and Instructions of the Asiatic Exclu
sion league, we would respectfully and
earnestly request you to send us your
answer to the following propositions: .
"Will you protest against and oppose
any constitutional amendment or treaty
provision intended, or which might be
used, to extend the right of naturaliza
tion; ana ruruier, -
"Will you use your voice and vote to
wards the enactment of an exclusion
law which will effectually prevent ttre
immigration into the United States of
all Asiatics, excepting merchants, stu
dents and travelers; and further,
"That the said act contain provisions
mat mercnants, stuaents and travelers,
when found performing manual labor,
shall be deported: and further.
"That provisions similar to the Geary
registration taw De emooaiea in any ex
clusion law that may be enacted and
