He Is representing a New York syndicate that seeks to establish a steamship line from Astoria to Alaska and the orient, the company to be known as the Astoria Steamship & Transportation company. Oarland stated that his people propose to pur chase, build, equip and maintain steam ships out of this port for Alaska and the orient and build docks and eleva tors on the water frontage on which options have been secured already.
