The depar ture of the Charleston from port. where Its officers have been for aev v eral weeks enlivening the social Ufa, left society with a feeling that there was no more to do till fail. The announcement of Lansing Stouts engagement today Is of Interest A marriage of general Interest was that of Miss Isabella Mogeau and Hugh II. Herdman. Wednesday evening, which took place at the home of the bride's Sister, Mra N. J. Levi neon, on Wlllam - ette Heights. About 40 of the rela tives and immediate irienas were in attendance. Rev. William Hiram Foulkes of the First Presbyterian church read 'the ceremony and waa assisted by Dr. J. K. Wilson, with whom Mr. Hani man haa been long connected In bis work. The horn waa prettily decorated for the wedding. In the hall were banks of huckleberry vines and ocean spray with wi nf red roses interspersed. The wedding party stood In the drawlng ,. within a rren bower of huckle- harrv vines with lights twinkling through. Pink sweet peas with long tendrils filled wail-baskets and vases everywhere and backed the n.nti in the dining-room was a frieze of the blossoms around the entire wall and In th II hnrv alcove where the bridal table was set the shelves were banked with them and festoons of ribbon from the chandelier sustained the color plan.
