A petition has been filed with the board of county eommlssloners asking -for a franchise for an electric or motor line from the county line, between Whitman and Spo kane counties to the olty of Spokane. The proposed 'line la a part of the pro jected line from Colfax to Spokane, the franchise through Whitman having been obtained. It is the intention of the promoters of the road to have it completed and in running order within- two years from the time of the granting of the fran chise . This line 'hag been projected for some time and the surveys have been made, but the promoters were not ready to ask Tor a franchise through this coun ty until everything was In readiness to proceed with the work of construction.
