maker he is too. Gray Bros, keep
the choicest meats and cut the nicest
steaks. F. C, Sels keeps the Lest
beer, ale and wine that can be
bought and H. Bryer is always
ready to wait on you. H. E. Sels,
next door, is always sociable and
sells groceries cheap. The City Ho
tel is the place to stop and if you
don't find Groth & Thompson to be
gentlemen then we are no judge.
.Phil. Metschan & Co. are the nier
'ohants that always carry a full stock
;and deal rightly. G. I. Hazeltixe
can take a picture as good as any
artist in Oregon. The Public School
is on tha hill and affords good op
portunities for the children to edu
cate. "The Episcopal Churbh is sup
plied now and services are held reg
ularly. The News office is opjDosite
