Medical Association was the state

before the New York Academy of
Medicine by Charles A. L Reed of
Cincinnati, O., chairman of the As

medical legislation. In speaking on
the campaign for national health

"On the heels of the -various steps
forward I am gratified to be able to
assure you that the President has au

formulate definite proposals and
transmit them with his endorsement
to the next congress. It now devolves
upon 130,000 doctors In the United
States, not only to back the Presi

those actions by a persistent cam

feature of the public welfare."
Speaking of the pollution of
streams,' Dr. Reed referred to the
Ohio watershed as a "thousand miles
of river and a thousand miles of ty

death rate from that cause is increas

If only one half of the persons
who die or are incapacitated as the
result of tuberculosis and typhoid

would mean a saving " in money , to
maintain a "National Board of
Health, pay for the army and navy,
fortify our coast, duplicate our ar
