Frenchwomen are so anxious about keeping their ankles trim that many of them scoru the idea of wear ing slippers or low shoes in the day. Crystal beads are much In evidence on the new black frocks. Some gowns are literally sown with these guttering dewdrops, while coral and gold beads bring quite a new note into the em broideries of the day, and hammered aluminium sequins are seen with great effect Among the prettiest of the summer frocks are those of batiste in delicate tints of blue, pink, lavender and ecru, embroidered in eyelets of the same shade.
