A CHBCKKD BATBIRO SUIT fiTOH Inen shirt waist suit or at least a blouse of harmonising tone with the skirt Bretonne embroidery is Tory smart when used Judiciously on linen frocks. It Is well to remember that little goes a long way. The summer girl with her afternoon gown makes a point of being exquisite ly shod. Frenchwomen are so anxious about keeping their ankles trim that many of them scoru the idea of wear ing slippers or low shoes in the day. Crystal beads are much In evidence on the new black frocks. Some gowns are literally sown with these guttering dewdrops, while coral and gold beads bring quite a new note into the em broideries of the day, and hammered aluminium sequins are seen with great effect Among the prettiest of the summer frocks are those of batiste in delicate tints of blue, pink, lavender and ecru, embroidered in eyelets of the same shade. The Mayfalr II. belt is as popular as the original Mayfalr. It n made of heavy basket weave silk elastic, with kid ends that match the elastic In color, and finished with a severely plain gold buckle. This new belt comes in black, white and all the new shades. The attractive bathing suit Illustrat ed Is of checked mohair, white, with lines of black, and Is trimmed with plain black taffeta. The effect is ex ceedingly chic. JtDIC CHOLLET. OUAINT CONCEITS. Adapting a Last Season's Hat to the Modish Mushroom Shape. The milliner who la clever will take a last summer's leghorn and bend It down all the way round. She will trim it with a heavy silk niching of some color to contrast with the hat, usually a blue upon a leghorn color. At one side she will fasten three or four ostrich feathers that will fall over A DAIKTY BUMMEB FKOCK 5708. the top of the hat and trail a little at one side, and thus fide will turn out a very acceptable mushroom hat For the swimmer nothing has been found more satisfactory In the matter of a cap than the bandanna kerchief worn cornerwise. It is not a new ar rangement for the hair, but It has the advantage of being an excelleut pro tection for the hair, and, another point in its favor, it takes up little room on or off the head. Tulle edged with ostrich feathers is used as a hat trimming and looks de liriously soft and dainty. Many wo men are wearing a black hat with their light gowns. It is noticeable that some of the smartest dresses have quite tight ami long sleeves. This points to the dis appearance of the elbow sleeves and those known ns the kimono. The blue Jewelry sets are remarku ble this season. They are so numer ous and of such variety that one can have half a dozen sets without repeat ing oneself at all. The shirt walbt enamel sets have many points of nov elty this year, and very pretty ones at Bead tne Morning Astoriaa. WANTED 2 MESSENGER BOYS. Apply Wesern Union. 2-4-tf. SITUATION WANTED.
