Knox, of Penn sylvania, and i now under connid eration by the Judiciary Committee of that body.';. This bill is designed to take the place of the employer' liabil ity law which wa declared uncon stilutlonal by the Supreme Court of the United State. The Knox bill make all railroad (imaged in interstate commerce liable to their employe for injury incurred in service, and to their heir in the event of a fatal, accident. The fel low-iervant doctrine i overturned by the Knox bill and the rule of con tributory negligence i greatly modi fied. Under its term the mere fact that an employe is injured or killed through the negligence of a fellow employe doc not relieve the env pioyer from responsibility. Nor doc contributory negligence bar an in. jured employe from claiming danv age. Jt merely lessens the amount of damage in proportion to the per centage o( negligence contributed. Under the term of this bill no con. tract of employment, insurance, re- net oenctit, etc. can constitute a bar or defense to any action brought to recover damage for personal in juries or death. Mr. Knox is looked upon a one of the great lawyer of tne country and it in believed that in his bill lie has met all of the objec tion rained j the former law by the Lourl.
