Clinton are going on a fishing excursion today. TAKE A BOAT, CAPSIZE IN FIVE FEET OP WATER AND DROWN IN SIGHT OF CROWD. Andro Miko, aged 22. and Joseph Mcsita, aged 30, were drowned last night in the river near Megler's Camp. The two men who were Austrian 'were working for the Kortside Railroad and in company with the rest of the gang were making their- way to camp after knocking off.. On the way to camp there is a gap between the two 'ends of the grades, the two men being in a hurry, stepped into a skill to cross this instead of going round. About half way across tho skiff capsized aud the occupants were thrown out into five feet of water in full view of the rest of the men. They were drowned almost immediately, apparently no effort, being niade to help them. Their bodies were soon Peeovered however and artificial respiration was tried with no effect. Andro Mikos had 1."0 in gold and a check for $100 on him at tho time. Justice of tha Police Dalton, acting coroner, took oharge of the bodies, and Dr. Klanke was also called in. Well Known Man of Astoria Stricken Though Serious is Doing Well. C. C. Utzinger, well known in our city,' is lying ill at St. Mary's Hospital, suf fering ifrom bowel and bladder troubles. Mr. Utzinger left here for Cray's River Inst Wednesday and while there was suddenly, taken ill. lie returned to As toria and on the advice of Dr. Hender son, his physician wag taken to the hospital. At im it was thought that an operation wuld bo of immediate necessity and his physician was prepared to perform it. 'A partial operation de veloped certain troubles which it is thought the partial operation will over come; Hia many friends in this eity will be pleased to learn, that as wo go to press lie is much relieved and shows signs of great improvement.
