be made on the first inst. Meantime
Mr. Miller took sick and went to the
hospital. On Thursday he got out and
on the same day M. and Mp. Grant
Anderson took the Volga for Chinook
and incidentally about a wagon load of

"Man and Master."
"Man and Master" is a play deserving
patronage as it ia well presented at the
Astoria Theater by the Brigham Slock
Company. Last night another large
audience was pleased. Those who wish
for comedy can find a continuous laugh
by witnessin the production, while the
dramatic interests of the play are by
no means slighted. "Man and Master"
is a play combining comedy and pathos,
intense interest and dramatic act ion, and
t will be the attraction at the Astoria
Theater for the remainder of the week
with a matinee today at 2:30 p, m.

IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE.
It makes all the difference In the
world to the convivial man where, and
what, he drinks. Most men desire
beauty and cleanliness, and handsome
appointments In the saloon they pat
ronize regularly, as well as the essen
tial prerequisite of genuine wines and
liquors that are served to them, And
these things are so particularly and
properly conspicuous at Otto Bund',

AT THE WALDORF.
One of the best vaudeville shows that
ever got together I running at the
Waldorf this week. Whilst the regular
stock company I giving a serle, of new
act. and ong which re all of a first
cliss order, and as far si the art are
concerned of a most laughable and
humorous nature, the two new turn are
something quite out of the ordinary
run. The act of the Tint Trams is far
and away above the ordliaiy run of
how given at a vaudeville house. The
marvelous manner In which the male'
performer throws his knives at the
board against which U companion
tand and still leave her unharmed,
i extraordinary beyond comprehension,
and must be seen to be believed. Stan

are a clever and humorous combination,
which should not be missed on any so
count, The Irish act Is excruciatingly
funny. Altogether, the whole show is
very strum and there I no better en

show and you will enjoy yourself m
