Sele Ageati r f Current Eveilts ar In iSociety fiere A very pretty wedding transpired in the parlors of the Hotel Irving at 8:30 o'clock last evening. Rev. G. E. Ryd quist, pastor of the First Lutheran church, of this city, performing the happy ceremony. The Vide was Miss Sophie Lanb.-rg, the popular proprietress of the Irving Grill the happy groom being Mr. Emil Bjork, the well known engineer of the Olsen logging plant at Deep River. The parlor was daintily shrouded in a mass of ferns and roses and every point in the- room was en gaged with a cluster of seasonable bloom of every hue and scent. The wedding was followed by a lovely sup per and a pleasant social, in which the guesti took part delightedly. Mr. and Mrs. Bjork were the recipients of many beautiful and substantial gifts. The ladies in the hotel, with whom the, pretty bride is a great favorite, towit, Mrs. Dr. Kinney, Mrs. M. C. Wood, Mrs. Dean, Mrs. Rouslo and Mrs. Olsen, contributed in many ways, to the pleas ures of the event. A delightful afternoon tea was given on Friday last by Mrs. M. C. Flavel and the Misses Flavel, at their beautiful home on Eighth street, at which Signor Auletti and his violin and mandolin were in conspicuous and roost diverting evidence, his music, on both instru ments, being distinct features of the gathering. The invitations for this pleasant affair included the following well known ladies: Mesdames Chess man, Finch, Spittle, Dyer, Brink, Cal endar, Ridehalgh, Miller, Higgins, War- ren, V. E. Tallant N, Tallant, 0ar ruthers, Badolett, and Heilborn; and the Misses Adair, Iliggins, Elmore, Reed, Garner, Hobson, Heilborn, Fred rickson, Reid and Taltent Wood, At the First Prettbyterian church last night at 8 o'clock Mis Berths Eliza beth Hobson was united ill marriage to C. H. Ifaldwnian. The ceremony was performed in the presence of a large number of guests by Rev. V, S. Gil bert. Promptly at 8 o'clock to the strains of the wedding march the bridal party entered the church and took their stand at the chancel rail. The bride was attired in a white silk, embroidered net gown, made princess style, wearing a veil and carrying a boquet of bride's roses. Miss Mary Barry of Portland, as maid of honor, wore a costume of pink silk mull, and carried pink carna tion. The bride's maids were dressed in white mull and carried carnations. They were; Miss Bessie Rcd Mt Maja Iredenckson and Miss Elmore. Constance Fulton, in a pink frock, was the flower girl. Ross Trull inger acted as bet man. The ushers were Frank Woodfleld, John Allen, George Ohler, and Dr. Paul Trullingeir. Aftcfr the ceremony a reception was given to the bridal couple at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fulton, by Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Fulton, and Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Fulton. The house was beautifully deco rated in the season's offerings. Re freshments were served. Mrs. G. C. Fulton gave a supper for the members of the Ilalderman-Hobson bridal party on last Thursday evening. The centerpiecei on the table was a min iature driveway of ice, edged with smilax with a tiny automobile containing two cupids in it. Pink forget-me-not formed the floral decorations and the place cards were minature shoes and slipper of bisque filled with rice and they were attached to the ehandalier with streamers of pink ribbon. Those present were Miss Bertha Hobson, Mr. Charles Halderman, Miss Bessie Reed, Miss Mary Barry, Mis Elsie Elmore, Mis Hannah Adair, Miss Maja Fredrick sci, Ross TrulliiiHcr,' John Allen, George Ohler, Dr. Paul Trullinger and Frank Woodfleld. ' The Kpwocdi lingua of the M. E. church gave a reception for the new paator and liU wife, Mr, end Mm. Rurick on Tuesday evening. The reception rooms of the church were decorated with the league color of white and red. Mr. J. K. Higgins gave the welcoming address and those who assisted in the musical program were Mrs, J. K. Fergnsen, Mrs. Julian, Miss Thompson. Mr. G. Zlegler, Mr. Woolen, Dr. Ball, Ml. Fayc Ball. Mr. E. M. Baker, Miss Nellie Busey and Alfred Schroeder. On Monday evening Miss Margaret Taylor entertained about fifty of her friends at her home on Irving avenue. Kuclire formed the principal amuse ment of the evening Miss Nichols of Portland and Mr. Mr. Clyde .Shields were the fortunate prize winners. The house wus beautiful decorated with roses anil evergreens. The young ladies who assisted in entertaining were Mis Flor ence Kendall and Helen Taylor. Miss Elsie Elmore gave a luncheon on Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock in honor of Miss Bertha Hobson. The table deco rations were of pink roses and orange place cards artistically arranged. Those present were Miss Hobson, Mrs. George Warren, Miss Maja Fredrickson, Miss Mary Barny, Miss Bessie Reed. Mrs, Nathunial Tallant and Miss Florettd Elmore. Miss Bertha Hobson gave a luncheon in honor of the ladies who will take part in her wedding ceremony. Miss Hobson presented each of her guests with a beautiful gold bracelet. Those present were Miss Marcy Burry of Portland, Miss Elsie Elmore, Miss Hannah Adair, Miss Bessie Reed and Miss Maja Fredrickson, Mrs. H. C. Harrison entertained about 20 of her riend on Wednesday after noon. The decorations were of roses, prettily arranged. There was a short musical program which helped those present to spend a most delightful afternoon. Mr. John Nordstrom entertained the memler and friends of the Indies' aid society of the First Luthefa church on Wednesday afternoon at her home In Alderlirook, Those present spent a very pleasant afteraoon.
