'. . Five Big Plants of the Simpson Milling Company Being Looked After. Hon. A. M. Simpson, president, gen eral manager and controlling owner of the proiertM-s and business of the Simp son Milling company, is in the city, a gue-t at the Hotel Occident. Mr. Simpson has just arrived from Humboldt, California where one of the mills' i in operation, ami from Coos Hay, where two more are doing business and he will go from here to South Bend, Vhiii;ton, to look after the mill, there, but will take a few observations at Knappton's big plant, before going to South Bend. His tour ia a tri annual event and is made with great regulari ty, in order that the head-quarter of lice may keep in constant touch with tlie profierties, from another view point tnan that offered by correspondence. He report that a far a he ha gone everything is in the fine working order, business good, the demand lively, and the sellers about six to one a to buy ers. The bitter estimate, he saya is inevitable in view of the constantly increasing number of mills being built at all available points on the coast. His own company is in the same swim, being now engaged in re-building the South Bend plant destroyed by fire about five month ago. The five mills ojierated by his company are taming out from four hundred thousand to one-half million feet of lumber per day, and this will be notab ly increased when the South Bend prop erty is set going again. Tbe universal spirit for improvement among the Pa cine coast town is responsible for. tbe present fair market and there is no ira mediate sign of any abatement, while the export end of the business Is satis factory everywhere and likey to be for some time to come, the demand in the Far East being just "turned flood" in the lumber line. Mr. Simpson is in the best of health and says nothing aila him except that he is long on saw-mills as he has about four too many. Ar You Engage:? Engaged people ahould remember that, after marriage, many quarrels can be avoided, by keeping their digestiona in good condition with Electric Bitten. S. A. Brown of Bcnncttsville, S. C says "For years, my wife suffered intensely from dyspepsia, complicated with a tor pid liver, until she lost her strength and vigor, and became a mere wreck of her former self. Then she tried Electric Biters, which helped her at once, and finally made her entirely well. She is now strong and healthy."
