Last night's production of "Shore
Acres" pleased a large audience at

ed with applause.

Jame T. Galloway, In the part of
Nathaniel Berry, waa all that he was
advertised, "and then some." and his
support wa excellent to the last word
of the "single lines."

Not for the purpose of advertise
ment, but to give the actor their due,
Elwyn Stevens, Belle Thgadore ' and
Francis A. Denson are actors of th
first merit, and the applaues accorded
them testifies to their ability to "get
a hand," In a town where appreciation
la anly given the bst of Its kind.

It seems that the amendments pro
posed by the charter revision commit
tee are not all that the people demand.
Tha better element, and those not al
lied with the police commission ring
re urging an amendment, giving the
council discretionary powers In grant
ing liquor licenses. There seems to be
determined effort to weed out some
of the. disreputable saloons In the low
er end of town. As these resorts are
necessary adjunct to the success of
the citizens party, It la doubtful If the
amendment will be considered by the
committee.
