They were William Bate, dredge engineer and Phillip Batea, hi. brother, craneman. They were engaged through the officer, of the International brotherhood of steam ahovel and dredgemen, the member of which organization wlU be hired for the work. The engineer, will receive $190 and the cranemen $185 a month on the canal. The men will be furnished free transportation from New Tork to Colon and return.
