and the opening of the. Summer School

Harvard Square from a city of under
graduates to one of teachers and ottn-r

yoke, Samuel Locke, Samuel Lungdon,
who temporarily retired to make'way

the one year of President Klrkland's
administration the old house was the
home of Ralph Waldo Emerson, then
acting In the now abolished office of
"President's Fr.-shman."
