Don't boost Ashland and then fall down When you're asked for a dollar to bring renown. If they ask for a bond, will you give them a vote? If for collateral true, sign your name to a note? All work together there's no other way This knocking and grumbling will never pay. Don't be a grump and don't be croak. u down on your luck, don't say " 'Tis Ashland that broke." And the good that you say, say with power and zest. Let your slogan be "Ashland's as good as the best." Read the paper reports, both far and near; Whate'or the weather may be, 'tis not so bad here. If sick of yourself, go away for while; You'll return well content, be happy and smile. Boost for Ashland and her wonderful springs; Boost, and "boost" the echo rings! boobi tor tne climate all the year round, ' Boost and the good will to you re bound! Of course, we want truth simple truth can't hurt But don't cover the truth too deep with the dirt. If there's bad, forget it; if good, then clap; j, Keep "Ashland the Beautiful" on the map. Resources! Ye gods! Could you ask for more? There's enough in this valley to reach - the world o'er. Dairy, poultry, the mine and "fruit to burn" And the landscape's a picture, wher ever you turn. Of course, this don't mean we can sit down and pout It takes brain and brawn to bring the good out. Undeveloped, we know, awaiting God's plan, Opportunity offers perhaps you are the man! Take pride in your homes, plant trees In each yard; Try all sorts of boosting 'twill sure bring reward. Boost, and some time you'll be proud to say, "I helped build Ashland, she's here to stay." As a health resort it cannot be beat; As a pleasure resort 'tis a wonderful treat. When you buy your ticket, get it just one way, For once you strike Ashland, you're here tostay. That knocking business is low, I vow; Get the boosting habit it will pay somehow. Now, all I have said to this fact is reduced: Tell the trut habout Ashland and that will boost. Phone 117. The irrigation system being constructed In Shasta Valley for the watering of 20,000 acres of land Is being rapidly com pleted. The engineers in charge of the work are confident that the sys tem will be supplying water to a great portion of the land the coming spring. It has been found that a comparatively slight additional ex pense will extend the present system so as to include 12,000 acres adjacent. The completion of this work will add 32,000 acres of irrigated land to the county's total. This land has heretofore been used chiefly for graz ing purposes, and its market value was never considered to be In excess of 1 1 0 to $15 per acre. With water In abundance the land immediately becomes worth from $75 to $150 per acre, and will be subdivided into twenty-acre units and sold. The soil has been carefully exam ined by United States government ex perts and pronounced suitable for all sorts of forage, truck gardening and deciduous fruits. Portions of it are said to be ideal for the culture of celery and asparagus. C. E. FR0MAN II. C. HIGH Carpenters We Build Homes and Fix Things TRY US. PHONC 372 R 4 TALENT A DREAM OF THE FUTURE.
