Harvey, former cashier of the Citizens Bank of this city, but who departed for southern Califor nia over a year ago, is now the vice president of the Citizens Commercial and Savings Bank of Santa Ana, Cal., which he organized in September. Santa Ana is located in Orange coun ty, which is a very rich section of southern California. ' Card of Thanks. Until 1716 the government obtained its ordnance from private manufacturers, but in that year the explosion decided it to build a foundry of its own, and Wool wich, already famous as a naval sta tion, was chosen as the site. Public notice Is hereby given that the annual city election will be held in the City of Ashland, Oregon, on Tuesday, the 15th day of December, 1914, as provided for in Sections 1 and 2 of Article 4 of the Charter of Bald city, and pursuant to a resolu tion of the Common Council duly passed on the 24th day of November, 1914, for the election of a Mayor, a Recorder and a Treasurer to servo for the term beginning January 1st, 1915; one Councilman from the First Ward, to Berve for two years begin ning January 1st, 1915; one Council man from the Second Ward, to serve for tbe full term beginning January 1st, 1915; one Councilman from the Third Ward, to serve for the full term beginning January 1st, 1915; and one Park Commissioner from the city at large, to serve for the term of five years beginning with January 1st, 1915; one Springs Water Com missioner, to serve 'for the term of three years from January 1st, 1915; also to vote on the question, "Shall the City of Ashland, Oregon, license the sale of spirituous, vinous, malt or intoxicating liquors within the cor porate limits of such city, during the municipal year?" The following named persons have been appointed Judges of Election and the voting plates for the respect ive wards are hereby designated as follows: First Ward Voting place, Fourth Street Fire Station Building. Judges G. W. Benedict, W. A. Blbby and Manley Brower. Second Ward Voting place. Mili tia Barracks, McCarthy building, cor ner Main and Granite streets. Judges O. C. The two Judges last named in each ward are also appointed to . act as Clerks of Election. The polls will be open from 9 o'clock in the forenoon until 6 o'clock In the afternoon, and all persons who are qualified electors under the laws of the State of Oregon, and have re sided thirty days in the city and ten days in the ward immediately preced ing the election, shall be entitled to vote in their respective wards at such election.
