Ashland was represented at the statewide prohlbitou meeting at Med ford last Thursday evening by Mayor Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Childs, Mr. and Mrs. ftodgers and Mrs. Ashcraft. F. W. Emerson of Eugene delivered the principal address, taking as his topic "To Whom Shall We Go?" Mr. Emerson is but recently from Califor nia, where he took an active part in public affairs, being the prohibition candidate for govornor several years ago. He is a forceful speaker and made his points clear and distinct. County officers were elected for the year and a fine musical program ren dered. Mayor Johnson was called upon for a few remarks and respond ed In a short address. The meeting was a derided success and the pro hibs feel that the county campaign is progressing very satisfactorily. Sunday provided ideal weather for the fishermen and the streams were lined with anglers. Many fine catch es have been reported, although the season is scarcely - started. The catches Sunday were largely of steel heads and cutthroat trout. The streams are clear and the flow of water strong, making the sport un usually pleusant.
