A special tram from the north cam* in last L'nesday afteruism bringing the general superintendent of bridges of the S. P. R. R, Mr. Comstock, chief engineer Grondabl, of the Oregon di vision, and road master John Galvin, of Grant's Pass. They have been making a close inspection of the bridges and trestles of the road in this part of tie country, and Mr. Galvin nn ierstands that a number of ttie trestles north of Ashland will be sutistitnted with fills in the uear future. This is a good policy, and one of which toe public will be glad to learn. The Teachers Examination. There were fourteen applicants for tewcbeni'certificates at the quarterly examination held in Ashland last Week, and all but three were granted certificates.
