The lawsuit in Iowa over five calve« valued at ¿H.r>. rivals the famous case of Jarndyce A .larudyoe, aud throw« 111 the shade our Oregon case of Dowell vs. Griswold, and the celeltrated Cali fornia caae of Sarah Althea Hlll- Sharon-Terry vs. Win. Front Eusteru exchanges we learn that this celebrated case was eotnmenced in Jones county, Iowa, in 1874, by a man named Potter against a man miuted Johnson, to settle the ownership of five calve», valued at SO. It has cost, upto th., pr.-s.-ut time. L ils lmp..ven»lital several well- to-do farmers, and has eveu depreciabd the value of the property where the parties live. It has raged with increas ing fury in Jotiea aud in the surround- ing counties for fifteen years. It appears to be no nearer the end now than it was fifteen years ago. From this we might infer that it is like the earth, according to Marshal Wheeler’s theory, a permanent part of the uni verse, and will go on forever; but for the fact that it had a la-ginning, aud, therefore, according to Mr. Wheeler, must have an ending.
