The following particulars of the murder which occurred at Paisley, Oregon on Monday last, have been re ceived from Lakeview over the U. 8. military telegraph line: A sheep herder named Brown and a man named Fisher were engaged in playing a game of cards when a dispute arose betweeu them which was referred to L. M. Shick for settlement. Shick decided iu favor of Fisher, whereon Brown arose, ami, without saying a word, left for his camp. Procuring a Henry rifle, he returned, opened the saloon door, took deliberate aim and fired. The ball entered Sbick's left temple, killing him instantly. Shick is known here as a quiet, peaceable man. He has people living in Bishop Creek, California. The coroner’s jury yesterday brought in a verdict of mur der against Brown. He will be con fined in the jail at this place uutil the meeting of the circuit court. Slugular nnd Vnsuceeasful Show. A short time since a fellow turned up in Ashland, from no one knew where, calling himself Dr. Sealy, and opened an exhibition, the chief and on ly attraction of which was the alleged remains of the notorious desperado, Jesse James. The show did not prove a grand success, and the few who visited it were apparently unable to tell whether the exhibit was the real car cass of the defunct ilesfierado or not. Wax figure, or whatever it was, it looked like Jesse James, and it bore all the bullet holes which marked the genuine remains of the departed celebrity. The doctor bad a com- Cnion who was 8iipi>oeed by some to Frank James, but who did not seein incliued to exhibit himself. After do ing Ashland the whatever-it-was was boxed up aud taken to Grant's Pass, where its exhibition did not pay ex penses, so it was again boxed up and sent by express to Roseburg, where at latest accounts it remained uncalled for, the proprietor not having l>een seen or beard of. From present in dications it seems likely that the next appearance of this Jesse James “what- is it" will be at an old-horse «ale.— (Oregonian. The little babe of Mr. and M.
