chine for making tops and bottoms for
fruit cans, which cost between three and
four hundred dollars, and now he is able
to turn out cans of all kinds cheaper and
faster than they can be had elsewhere
in Southern Oregon.
The Quartermaster at Fort Klamath
advertises for five horses to be used in
the cavalry service, They must be geld-

condition, well broken to the saddle, 15
to 16 hands high, not less than five nor
more than nine years old. A board will
be in session at the Post from 11 A. m .
to 3 P. M. to inspect animals offered.
Jack Montgomery, who was thought
to have been fatally injured by the pis­
tol wound in the abdomen, has been
gradually improving under the care of
Dr. Danforth in the county hospital, and
is now considered out of danger. Much
credit is due his physician for the skill
and success- with which the difficult case
was treated.

zens was held in Houck's Hall Tuesday
evening, to consider the matter of the
celebration of the Fourth of July. A.

on motion C. Merritt was chosen secre­
tary.
