ITEMS FROM GALICE CREEK. OcL 17th, 1877. E ditor T idings :—Owing to tbe i I q U monotony of the times, oar little eamp '' has been very quiet for the last eix months, but as winter approaohee the miners begin to get a good ready for the water, and hope for a long, wet winter. Tbe Blue Gravel Company have jnel oompleted their new ditch an4 jaai received five hundred feet of twenty- two inoh pipe which they are now put ting together, and under the manage ment of their energetic and gentleman ly superintendent C. C. Brogan, they are getting their extensive gravel mine in splendid shape for a good winter« run. The two claims of the Oregon Company, are also in good trim; alto the Centennial Company are in roadi ness, and if we are blessed with plenty of water, old Galice will show tip m •he has not done for many years. The fact is beginning to be shown, too, that we have some very rich quartz ledges in this camp; the Sugar Pine ledge, owned by Green brothers, is un doubtedly very rich, besides being a well defined ledge from two Io four feet thick. They built an arrastra and made one rnn that paid them niniy one dollars per ton. Bybe is building an arrastra and putting up two stamps on his ledge, and from the looks of the ore they wave on their dump, they will get large re turns when they get their machinery in operation. We hope that Galioe Creek may be come of enough importance, e*re long, so that Uncle Sam can afford to give us a weekly mail, at least. B ouldkb . Millers and Farmers, ^N. But their sucoess lies in the better facilities for displaying articles on exhibition and also a larger number, with quality better than ever before exhibited. * All with whom we have conversed that have visited the Fair, are of one opinion; ‘best that was ever in this State.’**. ■ Will ba under the management of J a cob W agxeb , who will have charge of both Mills for the Company during the ensu ing year, ending July 1st, 1878. —AND ONE BOTTLE, $5; Or, THREE BOTTLES, $ 10.
