Night Jimmie Anderson of Omaha, "The Man With a Thousand Holds," Coming Here to Take on "Terrible Swede.". A mat match that wli: likely be the greatest evar held here is scheduled lor Saturday night when Chas. Olson (The, Terrible Swede) who wrestling fans of this section have seen In ac tion against Chas. Miller, will meet Jimmie Anderson (Tom Ray) "The Man With a Thousand Holds," at the Fair Grounds building. Anderson is given up to be one of the fastest men iu the game today, and It is claimed by many that know him that he has no equal In his weight. He ha? met and defeated many heavier men. He wrestled Ralph Han to a draw In two hours, Han has beaten the Swede once.' Anderson also wrestled Walter Miller, champion mid dle weight of the World and Ted Thye of Portland, getting one fall. Thye says that Anderson is fastest man In world, and there Is no limit to the holds he fastens on to his opponents. Swede Hard Man. Chas. Olson, the Terrible Swede, has met the best of them, and never has be been badly beaten. It must d admitted that be never exerted him self to the full amount of bis power In his last match with Miller. He sim ply al'.owel Miller to work himself down and at the end ot tne maicn the Swede could have wrestled anoth er hour at an even faster pace. White rules will govern the match the contestants to wrestle twelve rounds. This form will force the wres tlers to put forth their best efforts at all times as a. decision will be ren dered at the end of the match even though a fall should not be taken. Will Wrestle Fourth. The winner of this match will be matched with Ted Thye or Al Barnes at Newport on July 4th, Anderson has been sent in here to beat the Swede, and it, is very likely he will unless Olson can show much more speed than he did with Miller. Thye, Portland wrestler, has prom ised to meet the winner of the match on 4heJ?ourth and this fact will stir te wrestlers in the Saturday match to put forth their utmo3t efforts to win. Several preliminaries hvae been ar ranged and, taking the card as a whole It should be a real evening of sport, one that is well worth the prices carged for adfisslon. KERNVILLE BALL FANS WITNESS FAST GAME ON LOWER SILETZ (By G. Frans Glasier) On Sunday, June 18th, the "Saw dust SavageB" from Kernville took a deal of conceit out of the Up-River "CToVi Votara" In their third ftnlrlted baseball encounted of the season. The trama WHO nlaVAi At &COttR Field! everybody and his wife and sweet heart was there. The ladles provided a sumptions picnic dinner before the game. Whether It was the absence of fish from the menu, or the presence of sawdust in the bags, at any rate the mill contingent took the lead at a jump with five runs In the lrst In ning; and their lead was never ser iously endangered. The Fishermen had one long mom ent of glory In the fifth inning when, with bases full, Carl Toberer peeled the cover off the cork and trotted around the diamond for a homer. In the net frame, however, the mill turned out a ew bat, that simply couldn't fall to connect; and the nets that the FUher-tleldr set were rot ten (so to speak); the ball broke thru every time. Joe Wesloe pitched a good consis tent game for the mill men, allowing only twelve hits in nine Innings. Also he distinguished himself as a batsman getting four hits out of five chances, one of them a two-bagger. Alvah Strome, who pitched and won two former vames for the Fishermen, took the mound under handicap Sun day, and was badly threatened by the Kernville sluvgers. He was relluved at the start of the third Inning by Red Glaser. Red made a record of 18 strikeouts in seven lnnlng ; but also ha allowed bunched hits in tho Oth and 7th frames, which, tOKether with several errors in the infield, earned 6 scores for the millnien. Hod made another record of five stolen bases. ev-- v.lieii bo K')t o third, LINCOLN COUNTY LEADER. TOLEDO OREGON. THURSDAY.
