Bryant, and daughter-in?law, Mrs. Ernest Bryant, were in Toledo Sunday afternoon enroute home from a visit at Portland. Jim Ross returned home from Lodi, Calif., Wednesday evening. Jim has been at that California city the past couple of months. Rev. J. D. Cain has been re-appointed as pastor of the local M. E. Church for another year. County Agent Cooter reports that Clins Bros, of Eddyville have pur chased seven registered bucks from John Stump of Monmouth, the puro bred goat breeder, paying $50 eacli for them. ' Norman Stewart arrived over from Portland Saturday evening for a visit with his sister, Mrs. F. N. Havden. and family. Norman has a good po sition with the Northern Pacific Ter minal Co. Gifford Nash, aged 52, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Nash of Nashville, died recently at his home in Idaho. Mr. Nash was quite a large property holder here in Toledo. He was also a musician of note. Lincoln County captured third prize for the coast county division at the Stnte Fair. In shipping the exhibit out by express about half the exhibit wig lost and did not arrive at the grounds in time to be placed In the rIiow, which proved unfortunate for the county. In talking with County Agnnt Cooter since his return from Rose Lodsn. Mr. Cooter reports that the Rose Lodge fair was a success despite the rainy weather. He stated that the Rose Lodge cheese factory had enjoyed a very successful season having the larirpst output since the factory was established. Leader subscriptions received this week are: K. C.
