Wednes day evening from a vlnrt at Falls City with her daughter, Mrs. Chas. King, and family. Col. E. Hofer returned to his home at Salem Tuesday, the Col. has spent the past two months at his cottage at, Agate Beach. We have Fifty Bushels of Fancy Ripe Tomatoes for canning better get what you want now. Frederick' Quality Store. Ora Copeland arrived down from Portland Sunday evening for a few days hunting with Ed Altree at SileU. He also visited at Newport. Joe Kosydar bought a Fordson tractor from the Peterson Hardware this week. Mr. Kosydar has one of the finest farms in the county. Mrs. S. K. Booth departeS Monday toon for Pendleton whersf she will make her home. Mrs. Booth sold her residence here to Elmer Horning. P. H. Elting and brother, were over from Orton yesterday. Mrs. Jacobs, formerly of Harlan, but now residing in Southern Californ ia, is visiting at the R. R. Miller' home In this dry. .Mrs. Jacobs likes Lin coln county much better than Calif ornia. Jimmy Winskill was quite badly hurt, at Elk City, the first of the this week. It seems that he was working on the roof of a house when he slipp ed and fell, striking on the back of - his head. ' Mr. Burpee, who is in charge of the Jetty work r.t South Beach, passed thru Tuesday enroute to the quarry at Pioneer. Mr. Burpee reports that the windstorm of Monday did but Blight damage to the jetty trestle. Jas. Franks was over from the Si letz yesterday on business connected with the new bank building here. Mr. Franks Is building a new house on his five acre tract near the Agency, and is kepi, pretty busy these days. Harry Nortons was up from New port the first of the week. The heavy wind of Monday drove the fishing boats up this way to seek shelter be hind the hills. Harry has been en gaged in the off-shore fishing the past several months. Mr. L. R. Ames, recently from low, was up from NewpoYt the first of the week. Mr. Ames, who recently Bold his hardware business in the east, Is epending a few days at the beach and Is incidentally looking for a location. He came up to look our city over and Investigate the possibilities here. Attorney M. A. Clark of the law firm of Clark, Middleton & Clark of Portland, ha3 been in Toledo several days this week listing the claims against the Fischer-Storey sawmill company, and also looking up the re cords at the court house, b concerns this property.
