Under the direction of the Oregon
State Chamber of Commerce represen
tatives, an intensive canvass will be
conducted in Toledo, beginning next
Mondnv .Tune 21st, In connection with
the expansion movement of the State
Chamber to raise a budget of $450,000
covering a three year period, to carry
on its program of development work.
Of this amount, $180 000 Is to be raised
In Portland, and the remainder
throughout the State.
The appeal of the State Chamber
for funds to carry on its work is based
strictly on 4ts accomplishments since
it was organized less than two years
aco. It believes that the merchant
and manufacturer, the refail dealer
and the farmer will respond unani
mously to provide an adequate income
whereby this development work can be
carried on with the maximum of suc
cess. More than 200 leading men through
out the state have endorsed the ex
pansion movement of the State Cham
ber. They declare it to be the loEiral
medium to take the initiative in work
ing for the state as a whole. Its
program of activities Includes agricul
tural development, land settlement
the building of good roads, railrid
extention, irrigation, Industrial ex
pansion and an advertising campaign
for Oregon.
The Leader heartily endorse tlie
movement of the State Chamber, le
cause it believes in the State Chamber
It is hoped that Lincoln County, unci
particularly Toledo, will do its share
to make the movement a success.

THE UNIVERSAL CAR
The Ford Sedan is the favorite family car, seats five comfortably. While an
enclosed car with permanent top, it has large windows, and may in a minute be
changed to a most delightful open car with always a top protecting against the
eun. In inclement weather it is a closed car, dust-proof, water-proof, cold-proof.
Finely upholstered. Equipped with electric starting and lighting system and
demountable runs with 36-inch tires all around. A real family car. Anybody can
safely drive it. It has all the conveniences of an electric car with the economy
which goes with Ford cars, low cost of purchase price, small cost of operation,
and maintenance. Won't you come in and look at it?
