CLARK HAS BEEN MISINFORMED To The Editor: For fear that some people who read Mr. Clark's letter in your last week's paper, and who are not familiar with conditions as they are, might believe that he Is telling the truth I wish to Btate that the work of securing a county agent for this county is entirely that of the Pomona Grange of this county assisted by the more progressive of the local granges. There is abso lutely no outside influence at work. As a member of the agri cultural committee of the Po- Kiona Grange I will say that Mr. Maris, state leader of county agents was requested to ex plain the work in this county. He could not come so sent Mr. M. 0. Evan3, his assistant, who is an employee of the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture, to appear before the granges and to speak with all those he could come in touch fuvlth. This is part of his work enroute to attend the Salmon and costs no one any money. $ .75 FOUR MONTHLY MAGAZINES $11 .75 : And Oni Paner All One Year Get The Most For Your Money Send your aubacription to our paper at once, and we will fcive yon a year aabacription to these splendid mafcanes or only 2S cents additional. Social dances are becoming all i the rage here In Toledo, one be ing given at the Carson home last Friday evening and one at Derrick's Saturday evening. There is talk of renting the Woodman Hall and giving these old fashioned dances regularly. J. F. Stewart accompanied by Wiley Parrish and Floyd Butler left the first of the we3k for an auto trip through thr "orth end of the county, and will incident ally take in the Rose Lodge i Fair. They went In Mr. Stew art's auto. I W. H. Huntsucker of Wright Creek was in the city yesterday on business and call 3d in while in town. Mr. Huntsucker is one of the pioneers of th'.3 section, having came here in 1871. He has watched the country ! change from a wilderness to its present state of development. j Subscriptions received to the Leader are: W. H. Huntsucker, Toledo; W. Andrews, Toledo; Fred Wessel, Toledo; T. F. Will oughby, Eddyville; Carl Ander son, Newport; Fred Olson, Chit- Iwood; W. D. Griffith, Elk City; ;i Valentine Thiel, Newport; J. W. I Harrison, Toledo; Green Basir Stock Farm, Harlan. Will say furthermore that 1 have heard of no farmer re ceiving any letter from outside sources requesting him to use his influence with the county court in this matter. Progressive, well posted, and well read farmers need no urg ing from outside people to this as their better judgement will Convince them that it is for their best interests to do so vol untarily, If Mr. Clark would take time to investigate matters before rushing Into print It might save him the embarrassment of be ing publicly corrected.
