Senator Harry Lane, wife and daughter came in Saturday evening and registered at ine i . Abbey. On Mon- day the party started on a trip of inspection and pleasure, going to the Alsea bay. Waldport and Ocean View where the Senator will learn something of the great body of timber that is in that section of the country. He was at the great fair and says it is im mense; no description can do Justice to it. You must see the fair and go over the grounds In order to have an idea of its im menceness. -It is a credit to the United States and to -the world. Fred says he had two months of unalloyed pleasure, but after all Oregon the evergreen state Is the best and most pleasant place to live. He was gladto get back. , ' Mr. Barr Jones and Mrs. Jen nie Kendall, both of .Roseburg, were married on Thursday at 2 p. m. on the Jilgh seas, Captaii Carner of the OUie S.. perform ing the ceremony. There Is something fascinating about the deep, blue sea and rolling waves that lovers enjoy. Just 24 hours after the crime was reported by their vic tim they had received a life sen tence. There is sixty acres In the ranch and the price paid was $1,200. The Treese and Salisbury families have moved onto their ranch this week. They are very energetic people and will make a very, desirable addition to our neighborhood.
