be finished in 40 months. This
line will open up the rich copper
region of the Illinois river and
the timber country below it.
The City Council has decided
to appoint a water commissioner,
to look after the water system
and pipe line, instead of having
it looked after bv the marshal,
as heretofore. It Is thought
that by this method a practical
man can be kept in charge of
the water system at all times,
thus keeping the system in the
acme of perfection. At the pres
ent time there is considerable
work to be done such as clean
ing out the reservoir and stop
ping some leaks in same. After
which the' nlnelim; will be gone
over as well as'the distribution
system.
