At the field meet at the Fair grounds yesterday the following came off winners: 60 yard dash. Dickson 1st, Simpson 2d; 100 yard dash, Dickson 1st, Simpson 2d; 220 yard dash, Simpson 1st, Plank 2d; 440 yard run, Gwynn 1st, Simpson 2d; half mile run, Craves 1st, Gwyhn 2d: high jump, tie, Graves and Dickson, 5 ft. 21 inches; broad jump, Simpson 1st, Dickson 2d; relay race Toledo 1st, Elk City Td. Those running in the relay race were, Toledo, Plank, Akin and Dick son; Elk City Graves Davis and Simpson. BULL MOOSE CALF BORN. Several of the faithful met at the office of Attorney Middlekauff in this city Wednesday and organized the Progressive Club of of Lincoln County. The officers elected were, O. Middlekauff, president; John Loom is, of Newport, secretary; George H. Wilcox of Nfwport, lEt vice; Leslie Evens of Waldport 2d vice; A. T. Peterson of Toledo treasurer. The new Club adopted the same platform as that adopted by the National Progressive Club of Portland. Mr. Middlekauff was also elected a member of the state executive committee. He went from hern tn Portland. Corvallis telegraphed in word late Saturday evening that they would be unbale to come over Sunday to play ball. Consequently a pickup game was played between Toledo and Siietz, the latter winning by a score of nine to ten. DIED Levi McElwain, the youngest son of Mrs. N. L. Mc Elwain, in this city Tuesday. Au gust 20, 1912. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Toledo cemetery. Rev. Bryan conducting the services. Walter L. Tooze, Jr., Republican candidate for Joint Representative for Lincoln and Polk counties, was in the city yesterday. Mr. Tooze made a very interesting talk at the Fair yesterday morning on the sub ject of "Good Roads."
