Thursday evening the 23d inst. a meeting of the General Commit tee of the Lincoln County Fair As sociation was held in the City Hall in Toledo. At the meeting of the Association in May C. S. Davis was elected presidett, W. F. Wakefield let vice president, Dr. W. M. Berry, 2d vice president, and CO. Hawkins treas urer. The new committee immediately elected C B. Crosno secretary, justly considering the fact that Mr. Crosno, from his long experience and tireless energy, was best fitted for this office. President Davis appointed the following Commit tees: i Executive C. S. Davis, C. E. Hawkins, B. F. Grant, A. L. McDonald. Ed Avery. Geer, Earl Leggett, L. C. Smith. Amusements and Concessions C. S. Davis, Dr. W. M. Berry. Ed J. Avery. Education R. P. Goin, George Bethers, W. F. Wakefield. Music W. F. Ready, A. Rosebrook, R. DePoe. Printing and Program Ed J. Avery, C. B. Crosno, R. E. Collins. Finance C. E Hawkins, R. P. Goin, Dr. Berry, H. F. Nulton, Geo. B. McCluskey. A very enthusiastic meeting was held; a general discussion as to finances was entered into and it was the unanimous decision to have the entire General Committee confer with the County Court and ask aid financially for the coming Fair, ln- asmuch as the Committers all give their time to the association with out remuneration and as a county fair is one of the greatest, most powerful and far reaching of ad vertisements, the Committee felt that it would meet with the general approval of all taxpayers in tne county if the County Court would make a liberal appropriation for the Fair. It is distinctly understood that all cash premiums or awards will be paid. This Committee will not ad vetise any such until the entire amount of such premiums are in the hands of the treasurer. If is the purpose of this Commit tee to furnish the county papers with a financial t-tement immedi ately after close, of the Fair, detail ing receipts and disbursements. Thi3 is to be a business administra tion, run for the benefit of tho en tire county and no favors will be played.; We must forget the past,' pull for f the present and future, remember that we have one of the best coun ties on the Pacific coast as far as natural resources are concerned and that instead of a population of 7000 people we should have 70000. Our timber and dairying possibili ties alone being ample to take care of such a population. What we need is push. Everyone of us must fall in line and boost our county to the position it should occupy. Every little thing that you do, every little bit you add to the ex hibit, every little word of en couragement you speak t) someone else helps the Fair and helps you. None of us can 6tand alone, we must have help and must help each other. Forget your hammer, break its handle; instead hold out the right hand of good fellowship; smile, look pleased, act pleased and feel pleased. Boostt r.
