, Remember the meeting of the
Toledo Development League at the
' City Hall next Tuesday evening.
The county fair is only six week off
and the League has much business
in this connection.
That Big Game.
The big baseball game between
the Fultons of Portland and a Lin
coln county team to be played here
next Sunday will be a treat to all
lovers of the game. The local boys
have arranged a strong team com
posed of the best players in the
county, and will at least show the
visitors an interesting time. The
largest crowd to witness a ball game
in this comity is expected at this
game. .

Rev. Pearce of Silctz was a Toledo
visitor this week.
Lee Wade returned Tuesday from
atrip to the Valley.
Mrs. C. G. Copeland of Siletz
visited in Toledo Monday. . ,

chant was in the city Tuesday.
A. W. Weber of Ona was in the
city the latter part of last week.
Miss Hester Hill of Ona was visit
ing friends in Toledo last Saturday.

Mr. and'Mrs. Dan. Hurley of Al
bany arrived Wednesday noon for a
visit with relatives and friends in
Toledo.
Jake Wenger, the piano man,
and family who have been in Toledo
the past two weeks returned to Sa
lem yesterday.
Mrs. Blanch Winans, after a visit
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.
Hurley, here, returned Tuesday
morning to her home at Portland.
- R. N. W'arnock received a car
load of lumber Wednesday to be
used in the construction of a new
residence on his property on Grove
street.
Mrs. W. R. Hastings and son of
Portland and Mrs. Anderson of
California arrived Monday evening
for a visit with Banker and Mrs.
William Scarth.
F. M. Terman of Lutjens was in
Toledo yesterday. Mr. Terman is
an enthusiastic good roads man and
is pulling hard for more and better
roads in his locality.
William Enos of the Elk City
sawmill was in town Saturday.
Mr. Enos says the mill is running
all the time, and that they have
500000 feet of lumber on the yard.
Nashville and Toledo played a
good game of ball here Sunday.
The day was bright and warm and
the boys played good ball.' Toledo
won by the small margin of 11
to 10. '

The roads are in excellent condi
tion ; now. During the Summer
months there is nothing that affords
more pleasure, than a drive over
Lincoln county's scenic roads.
Pretty soon when we have rock and
plank roads all over the county it
will be just as nice to travel in the
Winter as the Summer.

a. in. August 11 and continued till
4 o'clock p. m. of the 14th.
